He is also the author of 21 books on archery, muzzleloaders, and hunting, including the first edition of Traditional Archery (ISBN 978-0-8117-2943-7). In 1997, he received the OWAA Gun Writer of the Year award and was inducted into the Black Powder Hall of Fame. He lives in Wyoming and Arizona, USA.
