Brilliant new book aims to harmonise the minds of horse and rider
Quiller Publishing are delighted to announce they will be launching Eric Smiley’s new book, Two Brains One Aim, at the International Eventing Forum on 4 February 2019.
Smiley, a former international event rider turned international coach and FEI judge, will be available to sign copies of his new book which he has written in conjunction with Ellie Hughes, a freelance equestrian journalist and keen competitor.
Two Brains One Aim, Smiley says, is about bringing the mind of the rider together with the mind of the horse while highlighting the key component in their synergy: understanding. He addresses fundamental topics pertinent to riders, with philosophical discussion and practical exercises applicable to all levels.
Smiley says, ‘This book is aimed at riders, coaches, and anyone interested in learning more about how humans and horses interact. I have tried to harness my own experiences when I cover the three main disciplines—dressage, show jumping, and eventing—and how they relate to one another. I look at how those in a coaching position can guide riders to perform better by making their lives less complicated and more fulfilling, and I examine how riders can apply the same principles to training their horses and become self-sufficient.’
The book has already received high praise from elite equestrians such as Ian Stark OBE, Christopher Bartle, William Micklem and Yogi Breisner.
Andrew Johnston, Managing Director of Quiller Publishing, said, ‘we are delighted to be publishing Two Brains, One Aim with Eric Smiley and with simultaneous publication in the United States it will be an invaluable guide to Eric’s renowned training techniques and experiences, which are applicable to riders at every level.
Two Brains One Aim will be available from www.quillerpublishing.com and will retail for £19.95
