This book deals with fishing for pike and other freshwater predatory fish especially catfish, eels, perch and zander. There are chapters on all five of these species and also sections on others notably chub, trout and salmon. The biology, habitat and distribution of these fish are dealt with along with actually fishing for them. The fishing sections include tackle and techniques along with fishing stories. A concluding chapter looks at the current situation as far as fishing for these species is concerned as well as some of the problems and challenges for the future, not least climate changes. Overall, though, the author takes an optimistic view of the future.

'Pike and Freshwater Predator Fishing in the British Isles is a brand new release from Steve Rogowski and is a unique volume of very in-depth chapters on the UK's main predatory species. The 6 main chapters focus on: pike; Steve Rogowski, Catfish; Simon Clarke, Eels; Steve Ormond, Perch; Mark Barrett and Zander; Neville Fickling. Each author covers their specialist species in their own style with detailed advice given on tackle, rigs, baits and how to care for your fish. There are also tales of fishing experiences to put the reader on the bankside.  Steve then concludes the book with a sobering chapter on future challenges that freshwater predators face.' Pikelines
